Merry Christmas??? Association for Christian Retail president, Bill Anderson, and director of marketing, Lisa Ray: ADOPT ANTI-SLAVERY STANDARDS!

All that follows is from End Human Trafficking @ change.org, here.

Ask the Association for Christian Retail to Adopt Anti-Slavery Standards!

Targeting: Bill Anderson (President, Association for Christian Retail) and Lisa Ray (Marketing, Association for Christian Retail)
Started by: Amanda Kloer
In 2007, a case of crucifixes purchased by St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York were traced back to a factory in China where girls as young as 15 were forced to work up to 19-hour days, seven days a week to manufacture the religious items.  Today, Christian items from bible covers to t-shirts are being made in factories which abuse and traffic workers.

However, the Association for Christian Retail has not yet adopted standards to help ensure that none of their products are made by slaves or exploited and abused workers.  Fair Trade Christian Goods Standards are being adopted in Australia as part of the Just Act Campaign.  The U.S., as a huge buyer of Christian goods, has an opportunity to stand up and insist upon religious items made under fair labor conditions and not by slaves!

Sign the petition to ask the Association for Christian Retail to commit to a set of anti-slavery standards for the production of the Christian goods.
